PC with wireless NIC aironet 450. Booting from install x86 universal 2005.0. In the prompt, using net-setup eth0, I provide all the data, including the SSID. The SSID is stored using double quotes: "network". The network doesn't work. If I change the content of /proc/drivers/aironet/eth0/SSID, removing the quotes, the network works. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Can you try the ISO at http://gentoo.osuosl.org/experimental/x86/livecd/x86/install-minimal-x86-2005.1_pre1.iso and see if it resolves this. I believe that it does, and if it does, then this will be fixed in 2005.1 when it is released.
This worked for me at Linux World, so I'm assuming it is fixed.
