php-8.1.x is only receiving security fixes now (https://www.php.net/supported-versions.php) so this is unlikely to be fixed even if I was able to track down the issue and submit a PR. Adding to that the fact that it's x86-only... I think the most honest thing to do here is admit that it won't be fixed before 8.1 is completely EOL and masked.
