After I upgraded to thunderbird-1.0.2 I cannot open new message windows any longer. If I try thunderbird hangs somehow: The message window does _not_open, but I can continue with normal operations (writing, getting, ...) but when I close it it does not exit correctly: thunderbird processes are still running: martin 27518 7.5 2.9 62212 30188 pts/3 S 18:15 0:01 /usr/lib/MozillaThunderbird/thunderbird-bin -mail martin 27522 0.0 2.9 62212 30188 pts/3 S 18:15 0:00 /usr/lib/MozillaThunderbird/thunderbird-bin -mail martin 27523 0.0 2.9 62212 30188 pts/3 S 18:15 0:00 /usr/lib/MozillaThunderbird/thunderbird-bin -mail martin 27524 0.0 2.9 62212 30188 pts/3 S 18:15 0:00 /usr/lib/MozillaThunderbird/thunderbird-bin -mail martin 27525 0.0 2.9 62212 30188 pts/3 S 18:15 0:00 /usr/lib/MozillaThunderbird/thunderbird-bin -mail martin 27526 0.0 2.9 62212 30188 pts/3 S 18:15 0:00 /usr/lib/MozillaThunderbird/thunderbird-bin -mail martin 27527 0.0 2.9 62212 30188 pts/3 S 18:15 0:00 /usr/lib/MozillaThunderbird/thunderbird-bin -mail martin 27528 0.0 2.9 62212 30188 pts/3 S 18:15 0:00 /usr/lib/MozillaThunderbird/thunderbird-bin -mail martin 27529 0.0 2.9 62212 30188 pts/3 S 18:15 0:00 /usr/lib/MozillaThunderbird/thunderbird-bin -mail martin 27531 0.0 2.9 62212 30188 pts/3 S 18:15 0:00 /usr/lib/MozillaThunderbird/thunderbird-bin -mail Until I kill those processes I cannot start thunderbird again. *** Bug 92514 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
New problem: Thunderbird is now also crashing when trying to display some messages in the normal message window already integrated in the thunderbird window. I get: % thunderbird (Clicking on that mail, for example mails of the gentoo-GLSA list) No running windows found /usr/libexec/mozilla-launcher: line 113: 14488 Segmentation fault "$mozbin" "$@" thunderbird-bin exited with non-zero status (139) So I'm now unable to read a major part of my mails.
I was able to solve this issue: The enigmail extension was installed in an old version (0.89.x) for some reason although I had the latest ebuild that should have installed 0.90.x. So I have no more crashes or hangs now.
