I ran into this problem this morning and saw that several PERL modules were missing according to XMLTV's ebuild output. It turned out my PERL setup was somehow damaged (maybe some migration step failed last time I upgraded PERL), so I remerged my whole PERL installation with "for pkg in $(ls -1 /var/db/pkg/dev-perl) ; do emerge --oneshot =$pkg; done" Now xmltv works fine for me ; it may or may not be related to my PERL problems. Sorry I couldn't help more...
im not using xmltv anymore - so ill just close it.
