I was wondering if ther would be a chanse, someone could add a little pice of information to the "Partition your harddrive" chapter in the Handbook. My concern is, that the /usr/portage dir/folder/map will always consume ~500mb + every distfile downloaded (by default, if not altered in /etc/make.conf) This would be a very valuable information to a new gentoo user, seeing how an old linux user wouldnt know this. This would, i belive, save many many people time to not have to re-install your gentoo box. I have only checked the "x86" book, but i assume this goes for every one.
