There are at least two git commits it the repo that are definitely bugfixes. Given that there were no releases/commits in over two years, you should consider picking those two up. The commits I'm referring to are 0575993210c8faee33e2dad972f3b4faf364e088 (changes how to_grey_level is calculated) and 4b4e6eff136be38a27282979d139dec7f896e58c (despite being named 'Suppress warnings' the first chunk is a bugfix).
I would strongly prefer to see a new release rather than cherry-picking specific commits. Have you addressed this upstream?
Not really. I've got a very 'passing' interest in ruby, basically limited the to gtk bindings, that I need for a toy I cobbled up awhile ago for a very specific purpose (in that context using ruby was the natural choice). Those bindings use red-colors, so here we are.
red-colors 0.4.0 has been released and added to gentoo.
