After upgrading to 1.0.2 from 1.0 thunderbird crashes when run as a normal user program (as root works). I could make it to get thunderbird running now: The trick was to disable ccache. Tell me how I can give you more hints what exactly caused this. Virtually, ccache should be safe to use, shouldn't it?

Hmmm, maybe `emerge mozilla-thunderbird >& log` with/without ccache, but that´s going to be huge, so don´t attach until some of the devs actually requests it. But you can study the output meanwhile. :-)
emerge strace and then run strace "thunderbird" and attach that log that will be more helpful then anything in finding out why it is crashing with ccache.
Sry, but I'm no longer able to track this issue down because I decided not to use ccache any longer. Thx for all help though.
