Description Markus Luisser 2005-05-12 03:17:16 UTC
Just updated to apache 2.0.54-r2 upon restarting the server I got the following error in the log:

------------%<------------
Unable to open logs
unable to start piped log program '/usr/sbin/apache2splitlogfile': Permission denied
------------%<------------

chmod a+x on /usr/sbin/apache2splitlogile and /usr/sbin/apache2logserverstatus solved the issue.

just installed apache 2.0.54-r2

but the default config don't work

e.g. no http.conf
/etc/init.d/apache2 restart
* Unable to read configuration file: /etc/apache2/httpd.conf
/etc/init.d/apache2 restart
* Found old apache2.conf in /etc/apache2/conf. Configuration locations
have moved, please check /etc/apache2/httpd.conf to make sure it is correct,
and remove /etc/apache2/conf/apache2.conf.

Please see http://dev.gentoo.org/~vericgar/doc/apache-package-refresh.html
for more information.

From ChangeLog:

<snip>
*apache-2.0.54-r5 (12 May 2005)
*apache-2.0.54-r4 (12 May 2005)

 12 May 2005; Bryan Ăstergaard <kloeri@gentoo.org>
 +apache-2.0.54-r4.ebuild, +apache-2.0.54-r5.ebuild:
 Fixed ebuilds, bug 92348 and bug 91737.
</snip>

So please emerge sync and install apache-2.0.54-r4. I can confirm that it now works here. ;-)
