Comment 2 Martin Mokrejš 2005-05-31 00:28:01 UTC
Temporary workaround is to use USE="-mysql"
Comment 3 Martin Mokrejš 2005-06-12 03:48:56 UTC
To be honest, I maintain mysql outside portage tree and have mysql-bin package
installed in /opt/.... and binaries from mysql.com in /usr/local/mysql*.
mysql-bin is an ebuild which is not stable and no other packages know about it.
It should provide virtual package "mysql" in future (bug 83424).

However, I believe even when user specifies mysql USE flag it should be detected
already by configure. I guess configure has found /usr/local/mysql/ instalation
but didn't pass that to makefiles.

not our bug then.
