Description Max Steel 2024-01-29 21:32:35 UTC
We may have to update our mta for future usage at least for gmail users. GMail is working on "improving the security" by tightening their anti-spam configuration.
according to this blog post by them https://blog.google/products/gmail/gmail-security-authentication-spam-protection/

We may also have the problem for a few days at least that some gmail users dont get emails from forums or bugzilla regarding systemmails like forget passwords or account creation according to this forums post https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-1167046.html or this one from the german subforum https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-1167135.html

Gentoo Mailing Server may need to update to proper use of updated DNS Reverse Addresses for ipv6 (they may be tried to be delivered over that... doesnt look like that, but doesnt hurt) so that it also reverses properly to the announced helo from postfix.
Also new build DKIM for the mtas may needed to be set up in future for gmail (or all of that).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set up fresh gmail account for testing
2. try to create forums account or bugzilla account using that gmail address
3. look for emails
Actual Results:
doesnt get any

Expected Results:
does get a welcome to forums mail and activation link

It does not look like that gmail has proper bouncing for quarantined mails, also not a proper way to let the user set a "yes, but no thanks, i want that regardless" rule for their account.
