I emerged tex2im and tried create simple formula image:

amd@dma ~ $ tex2im test.tex
/usr/bin/tex2im: line 195: latex: command not found
convert: unable to open image `/tmp/tex2imKT0GQR/out.eps': No such file or directory.
mv: stat `/tmp/tex2imKT0GQR/out.png.0' ei

IMHO, it's missing dev-tex/tetex or a similar package...

Added dependency virtual/tetex. Please re-emerge it. Thanks
