I just installed google-chrome-stable (new installation) and keyboard and mouse are not working with google-chrome. Keyboard and mouse are working fine with all other applications including Firefox. I tried wired and wireless keyboard and none of them respond with google-chrome [I] www-client/google-chrome Installed versions: 120.0.6099.199^msd(07:10:51 AM 01/10/2024)(qt5 -qt6 -selinux L10N="-af -am -ar -bg -bn -ca -cs -da -de -el -en-GB -es -es-419 -et -fa -fi -fil -fr -gu -he -hi -hr -hu -id -it -ja -kn -ko -lt -lv -ml -mr -ms -nb -nl -pl -pt-BR -pt-PT -ro -ru -sk -sl -sr -sv -sw -ta -te -th -tr -uk -ur -vi -zh-CN -zh-TW") When I try to start from the command line: google-chrome-stable [6304:6332:0110/090151.858923:ERROR:bus.cc(407)] Failed to connect to the bus: Could not parse server address: Unknown address type (examples of valid types are "tcp" and on UNIX "unix") [6304:6332:0110/090151.859229:ERROR:bus.cc(407)] Failed to connect to the bus: Could not parse server address: Unknown address type (examples of valid types are "tcp" and on UNIX "unix") [6304:6332:0110/090151.859263:ERROR:bus.cc(407)] Failed to connect to the bus: Could not parse server address: Unknown address type (examples of valid types are "tcp" and on UNIX "unix") [6304:6332:0110/090151.859297:ERROR:bus.cc(407)] Failed to connect to the bus: Could not parse server address: Unknown address type (examples of valid types are "tcp" and on UNIX "unix") [6304:6332:0110/090151.910660:ERROR:bus.cc(407)] Failed to connect to the bus: Could not parse server address: Unknown address type (examples of valid types are "tcp" and on UNIX "unix") [6304:6332:0110/090151.910682:ERROR:bus.cc(407)] Failed to connect to the bus: Could not parse server address: Unknown address type (examples of valid types are "tcp" and on UNIX "unix") [6304:6332:0110/090152.180484:ERROR:bus.cc(407)] Failed to connect to the bus: Could not parse server address: Unknown address type (examples of valid types are "tcp" and on UNIX "unix") [6304:6332:0110/090152.180539:ERROR:bus.cc(407)] Failed to connect to the bus: Could not parse server address: Unknown address type (examples of valid types are "tcp" and on UNIX "unix") [6347:6347:0110/090152.941287:ERROR:skia_output_device_vulkan.cc(302)] Failed to initialize vulkan surface. I tried "google-chrome" and "chromium" (took few hours to compile) And they both act the same way: keyboard and mouse are not responding only with these two application; all other programs are working correctly. I have suspicion it is related to Intel i5-cpu's with GPU units. How to test it?
What value does the DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS variable have? For example: floppym@naomi ~ % echo $DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS unix:path=/run/user/10000/bus
(In reply to Mike Gilbert from comment #2) > What value does the DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS variable have? > > For example: > > floppym@naomi ~ % echo $DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS > unix:path=/run/user/10000/bus I'm not sure what are you asking? I only have path: /run/user/1000/dbus-1/ This error message only showing up when I try to start "google-chrome-stable" when log-in via "ssh" to the PC
Err, you are trying to run a graphical application remotely via SSH? Anyway, I want you to run "echo $DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS" and show the result.
(In reply to Mike Gilbert from comment #4) > Err, you are trying to run a graphical application remotely via SSH? > > Anyway, I want you to run "echo $DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS" and show the > result. When I start "google-chrome-stable" from the command line there are no errors, over ssh the program starts with some error, but no response to keyboard or mouse in either cases. Here is the result: echo $DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS unix:path=/tmp/dbus-qPxSjNjWGH,guid=ad1e992d55ee3def9eaa8fa365a056b8
Sorry, but I have no ideas for you. Likely something is weird/broken with your X server setup, but I'm not going to try and troubleshoot that over a bug report.
It is possible, I am running xfce and firefox and everything is running normally.
