Emerging openoffice-ximian-bin-1.3.11 fails if app-arch/rpm is not installed on the system.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge openoffice-ximian-bin 
2.
3.

Actual Results:  
Portage is unable to extract the openoffice-rpm-file.

Expected Results:  
Successfull installation.

Works flawless for me. rpm is not used for unpacking but rpm2targz. Also what is the exact error? And please always add the output of "emerge info" to a new bug.

You might try to rebuild cpio and rmp2targz.

Sorry. When emerging openoffice-ximian-bin I got a "error, file not in gz-format"-message (several times, and I did redownload the rpm's). I then emerged app-arch/rpm (and some deps) and after that the emerge openoffice-ximian-bin worked so I assumed (yes, I know assumption is the mother of all fuckups :) that was the error.

However, strangely enough emerging app-arch/rpm (or a package it depends on) fixed the problem for me.
