The kernel boot logs of Gentoo, Alpine and Fedora PPC64LE

Booting the Gentoo live PPC64LE CD on an IBM Power S822 system results in a kernel panic for the little endian architecture, while the big endian boots normally.

Other distros such as Alpine kernel panic with the exact same error while Fedora and Debain boot normally. All the kernel logs are attached, Debian boots directly to the installer hence why its kernel logs arent in the file, changing tty has no effect. The Gentoo log shows the boot processs for better clarity.

I believe this is whats causing the kernel panic.

[ 13.137832] genirq: Flags mismatch irq 16. 00000001 (hvc_console) vs. 00000001 (hvsi)
[ 13.137844] hvc_open: request_irq failed with rc -16.
[ 13.137892] Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init! exitcode=0x00000100

I have given the reporter a new ISO with a fix to test which should resolve this and lead to a patch.
