I'm working on a paper that looks at the history of the operating system, and was looking at Gentoo Linux, but was unable to find any information. Information that I feel would be good to have on this site is the first release date, dates of major releases, key players, and posssibly some more general history related things (like when portage versions were changed, gcc version changed, etc.
