.NET 8.0 has been released, and is starting to get a lot of traction.
.NET developers on Gentoo, like myself, are blocked on upgrading our existing projects or collaborating on new projects with developers who will all target 8.0 now.

Are you sure? we have 8.0 slot for some time now, we even have pkgs that use 8.0 slot :)

Oh, yea, sorry, it took us time to review the commit by a contributor who submitted a PR adding dotnet-sdk-bin that why I remember it was so long ago :P
