i've been trying to reply to this post on the forums since yesterday: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-8807185.html#8807185 but i keep getting "General Error: Error in posting" messages. When i first tried replying, there were no other replies, so i thought it might be a general forums issue. This morning, seeing that several other people have replied, i again tried commenting - only to get the same error.
Not that this is good, but a workaround is often either shortening the title in the reply or removing any special characters.
Hmm, do you mean the text in the "Subject" field? If so, there isn't any content in that field; here's a screencap: https://imgur.com/a/oXRoV1R Otherwise, sorry for being dense, but can you direct me to the bit you mean?
Please email forum-mods@gentoo.org with your forum username and/or email address. That goes to all the admins and we can look into it our end. If it's (another) forums bug, its another reason to do the phpBB3 upgrade.

Yeah, there is an issue with post titles that get overly long (longer than they seem in the UI due to how special characters are handled), and if quoting a post with such a title, it gets even longer due to the 'Re:' added to it. However that indeed does not seem to be the case here. Have you tried removing thing from your post to test? That smiley in particular seems suspicious to me... If it's not that (and perhaps even if it is), could you include the content here as an attachment? Thank you!

Thank you. I've confirmed that at least the bunch of emoji I just tried cause the error as well.
