Building USE="test"
VM started w/ 2 CPUs, 4GB of RAM, 16 GB of swap. 
Minimal Kernel & Package Set.  

USE="test" added 200+ packages.

media-libs/libvpx-1.13.1-r1:0/8::gentoo  USE="highbitdepth postproc test threads -doc -static-libs" ABI_X86="(64) -32 (-x32)" 0 KiB

emerge media-libs/libvpx -vp fails single test.  
[/var/tmp/portage/media-libs/libvpx-1.13.1-r1/work/libvpx-1.13.1/libs.mk:725: test_shard.6] Killed

That is the only indication in 20K lines of build log.

I thought it might have something to do with the "vesa" X Frame buffer driver, but I replaced that with the "bochs" driver (in the kernel).  I got full video, but no joy on libvpx!

Increasing to 8GB of RAM did not fix
 Increasing to 16GB of RAM allowed tests to complete.

We shall see how this affects the operational results.
