Description Alexander Puchmayr 2005-05-06 06:06:49 UTC
As soon as I try to load a spredsheet document containing formulas or try to create new formulas (e.g. =A1+B1 in cell C1), it dies with a signal 11 right after having entered the '='.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1) Start oocalc (new spredsheet)
2) type "=" in cell A1
Actual Results:
"An unrecoverable error has occured ..."
OOCalc dies, data lost.

There is now a new version in portage (1.3.11) which hopefully fixes that, could you please test and report back?
Comment 3 Alexander Puchmayr 2005-05-09 09:52:44 UTC
It seems you are talking about openoffice-ximian.
I'm talking about "plain normal" openoffice.

/usr/portage/app-office/openoffice/openoffice-1.1.4-r1.ebuild

Greetings

Sorry, my fault.
Comment 5 Andreas Proschofsky (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-05-11 08:32:12 UTC
Works for me. I would bet this is another problem of CFLAG/CXXFLAG-overoptimization. Especially remove the -mfpmath=sse -msse -mmmx stuff. Also why do you use -march=pentium3 if you have an athlon-xp? This should be -march=athlon-xp. Anyway, closing this, we have a warning about using generic C(XX)FLAGS for OOo.
Comment 6 Alexander Puchmayr 2005-05-11 09:39:16 UTC
Fine that it works for YOU but it does not for ME :-((

The reason for the pentium3/athlon-confusion is that I'm building Openoffice on an athlon for my laptop - which is a pentium3 with rather few memory and I don't want to wait days until it finishes ...

However, I will try it with a simple CFLAGS=-march=i686 -O2, but most of the flags I specified are stripped away automatically by the ebuild anyway. But Its worth a try.
