Please let me know if I should tack on a cleanup commit to this too, I know devs usually prefer I do single tasks.

for tracking? do you mean file another bug on b.g.o to request the cleanup?
I personally don't think it's really necessary unless you _DO_ have something important that want to discuss, or notify people?

otherwise it's fine to squash them in single PR (but with separated commits!), it would save dev some time to do proxy job for you
