Description Bruno Vieira 2005-05-05 09:48:10 UTC
Recently i received 2 new servers, i installed gentoo 2005.0 on them (i have several gentoo servers at work) the first one has a 1 terabyte lacie firewire external module, the other has 2 teras megaserver storage module, i'am using kernel 2.6.11-gentoo-r6 and i format both volumes with ext3. On both servers after some time this error messages appears.

There's no way any of these hardware are damaged, no external drivers are used, only 2.6.11-gentoo-r6 drivers, the local disks are ok, this only happens with big volumes.

In order to try to see if this problem was gentoo kernel sources related i installed vanillas sources version 2.6.12-rc3 and the problem appears with this kernel too.
