Description Agostino Sarubbo gentoo-dev 2023-10-11 13:20:48 UTC
Atm we have 2 openssh packages:

net-misc/openssh
net-misc/openssh-contrib

The news starts with: "Gentoo's OpenSSH package" and does not make any mention to packages.

Consider that we have (in the news):
Display-If-Installed: net-misc/openssh

And that net-misc/openssh-contrib uses also /etc/ssh/ssh_config.d I think we can specify better.

Ideas:
- add net-misc/openssh-contrib to 'Display-If-Installed'
- explicitly mention package names in the news

Seems reasonable.

I don't really see the point.

We know that we see news because of installed packages, but inexperienced users that do not know 'Display-If-Installed' and may be confused if this applies to openssh, openssh-contrib, or both.

I would not expect inexperienced users to use openssh-contrib anyway.

Given that the same news applies to both packages, I see no need to make any distinction here.
