Emerging dev-python/dockerpty will not pull dev-python/docker as dependency, but it's required for operation. See docs here https://pypi.org/project/dockerpty/ Citation: 

"Dependencies:

* docker-py>=0.3.2

However, this library does not explicitly declare this dependency in PyPi for a
number of reasons. It is assumed you have it installed."
