Description Stephan Rütten 2005-05-04 16:00:33 UTC
The nautilus-cd-burner ebuild gives one the extra context menu option "Write to Disc" with which one can burn an iso image with a right click.
This worked on my i386 machines but on my amd64 machine the option dissapears about half a second after I open the context menu.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open Nautilus
2.Right click an iso file from Nautilus
3.Watch "Write to Disc" option dissapear

Actual Results:
"Write to Disc" dissapeared

Expected Results:
"Write to Disc" option shoud not dissapear, it should "Write to Disc"

reproducable for other amd64 users ?

@ reporter : you don't mention which version of n-c-b you are using.
Comment 2 Herbie Hopkins (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-05-05 05:17:31 UTC
Yes, I've noticed this too. It appears to be a problem with mime types. The .iso is origionally recognised as application/x-cd-image due to the extension, however upon right clicking on the file in nautilus the mime-magic tests get run and the file is reclassified as application/x-arc and so the write to cd option gets removed. Removing the x-arc tests from /usr/share/mime/packages/freedesktop.org.xml and running update-mime-info seems to solve the problem. Is there some test that could be added (at a higher priority) to correctly classify application/x-cd-image?
Comment 3 Stephan Rütten 2005-05-05 11:13:56 UTC
These are the only versions I used on amd64:

nautilus-cd-burner-2.8.7
nautilus-cd-burner-2.10.0

Both behave the same way.
Comment 4 Herbie Hopkins (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-06-02 07:50:53 UTC
This issue should be fixed with shared-mime-info-0.16. Stephan, please upgrade
to this version and let us know if that solves your problem.
Comment 5 John N. Laliberte (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-07-03 07:36:50 UTC
no response from reporter, per comment #4, should be fixed in latest
shared-mime-info.
