evolution b0rks on me whenever i try to compose, forward or generally do anything but recieve emails, specifically when i hit the space or backspace key (this doesn't happen in calendar at all). when typing an email, i can type as much as i like providing i don't hit space or bksp, if i do i get "unknown error". this has happened in both 2.0.4 and 2.0.3, before that i did a reinstall of my gentoo system, but it did work before hand (unsure whether it was 2.0.2 or 2.0.3). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.click new message 2. attempt to type a sentance 3.when it gets to the space key evolution will die. Actual Results: it all went up in a puff of smoke (unknown error) Expected Results: let me write a message :) <emerge info> Portage 2.0.51.19 (default-linux/x86/2005.0, gcc-3.3.5-20050130, glibc-2.3.4.20041102-r1, 2.6.11-gentoo-r6 i686) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.11-gentoo-r6 i686 AMD Athlon(tm) XP 1500+ Gentoo Base System version 1.4.16 Python: dev-lang/python-2.3.4-r1 [2.3.4 (#1, Mar 23 2005, 18:12:49)] dev-lang/python: 2.3.4-r1 sys-apps/sandbox: [Not Present] sys-devel/autoconf: 2.59-r6, 2.13 sys-devel/automake: 1.7.9-r1, 1.8.5-r3, 1.5, 1.4_p6, 1.6.3, 1.9.4 sys-devel/binutils: 2.15.92.0.2-r7 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.16 virtual/os-headers: 2.6.8.1-r2 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CFLAGS="-march=athlon-xp -O2 -pipe -funroll-loops -ffast-math -mmmx" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/lib/X11/xkb /usr/share/config /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/terminfo /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-march=athlon-xp -O2 -pipe -funroll-loops -ffast-math -mmmx" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoaddcvs autoconfig ccache distlocks sandbox sfperms strict" GENTOO_MIRRORS="ftp://mirror.pacific.net.au/linux/Gentoo" LANG="en_AU.utf8" LC_ALL="en_AU.utf8" MAKEOPTS="-j2" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/local/portage" SYNC="rsync://rsync.au.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="x86 3dnow X aac alsa apm avi berkdb bitmap-fonts cdr cjk crypt cups curl dbus divx4linux dvd dvdr eds emboss encode esd fam flac foomaticdb fortran gdbm gif gimp gimp-print gnome gpm gstreamer gtk gtk2 hal imagemagick imlib ipv6 java jpeg libg++ libwww mad matroska mikmod mmx motif mp3 mpeg nas ncurses nls nptl nvidia ogg oggvorbis opengl oss pam pda pdflib perl pic png python quicktime readline real samba scanner sdl spell ssl svg svga tcpd tiff truetype truetype-fonts type1-fonts unicode usb userlocales vorbis xml2 xv xvid zlib userland_GNU kernel_linux libc_glibc" Unset: ASFLAGS, CBUILD, CTARGET, LDFLAGS, LINGUAS
Does this still occur with evolution 2.2?
(In reply to comment #1) > Does this still occur with evolution 2.2? i can't get evolution data server to build (as i'm running x86, not ~x86), so i can't build evolution-2.2.1... for the moment i'm rebuilding pango and gtkhtml, then building evolution against the freshly built systems.. i'll give 2.2 another go if this doesn't work, and i'll get back to you
Have you had any luck with evo 2.2?
