Hello. Please find attached an OOoView-1.1-r1.ebuild and three scripts for starting the program. This is a viewer for OpenOffice writer, calc and Impress written in java. Description: In 2003, the group of Christine Bejerasco, Cipriano Consolacion Jr., and Raquel Tarroza, under the supervision of Prof. R.Feria, have created a prototype of an OpenOffice.org file viewer. The viewer, called OOoView, was written in Java to ensure that it runs on any platform with a proper Java Virtual Machine. This application allows users to view OpenOffice.org files without installing OpenOffice.org or StarOffice. You can read more here: https://oooview.dev.java.net/ or here: http://os.up.edu.ph/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=2 I had to write the three scripts since upstream does not provide any way to run the program, only jar files. NOTE: This is my first ebuild submission so I welcome all comments and suggestions. Mike

Hello Mike, just had a quick look at your ebuild, following "findings" - Leading space at lines 27, 32, 46 Use tab for indenting. You can run "repoman" in that directory for sanity checks. The license is currently "limited", until they release source code under GPL.. Roland
Created attachment 58026 [details] OOoView-1.1-r1.ebuild (Update). Applied Roland's suggestions and fixed space->tab issues on lines specified.
Created attachment 58070 [details] OOoView-1.1-r1.ebuild (Update) More changes based on Roland's suggestions. There is now one run script with symlinks for writer, calc and impress. The help file is now extracted from the jar and installed. Thanks, Roland.

I emailed the professor asking about the source availability. He responded that the source is available on the project page: https://oooview.dev.java.net/source/browse/oooview/ His response: "Hi Mike, The source is included at java.net. Cheers!" Would this be considered adequate to satisfy Gentoo concerning GPL compliance?
So, it appears that the professor's web page might be a little old and the project page contains more up-to-date info. The project page clearly states the code is GPL'ed and offers a web interface to the source code. I have a cvs snapshot ebuild and package I will attach shortly. Mike
Created attachment 59755 [details] OOoView-1.1_p20050508.ebuild (New) I worked on a snapshot ebuild for this product. The snapshot is 124k. Unless a dev tells me to attach the snapshot I used, here's the cvs commands I used to ge the snap shot: cvs -d :pserver:mpagano@cvs.dev.java.net:/cvs login cvs -d :pserver:mpagano@cvs.dev.java.net:/cvs checkout -r 1.1 -I CVS oooview tar -czvf OOoView-1.1.tar.gz oooview The new ebuild is attached.
Created attachment 59756 [details] 1.1_p20050508-OOoView.sh (Update) This is an updated start script. Soft links will be made from the writer, calc and impress start scripts to this one start script.
Created attachment 60354 [details] 1.1_p20050508-OOoView.sh (Update) This is an updated start script. Execute the java command in the background via the ampersand.
Is this project still actively developed? Cause I don't want to put something in the tree that is "experimental" and has no future. The last cvs commit seems to have been in April.
Then don't commit it. Don't see much demand for it anyway.
@Mike: I'm turning this down for the moment. Thanks for your work anyway and sorry for not responding in a more timely fashion. Please reopen this bug if the upstream work continues / there is an actual release
