Description Parag Warudkar 2005-05-03 17:33:52 UTC
I have a external usb hard disk plugged in to my laptop. If the HDD is on, the kernel hangs for more than a minute while booting. The hang happens when the ohci-hcd module is loaded. The boot resumes normally afterwards. If the HDD is off, the hang does not occur.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Plug the USB HDD and turn it on
2. Boot the system
3. Hangs for a minute or more while loading ohci-hcd module

Actual Results:
System hangs annoyingly for more than a minute in the boot process

Expected Results:
Boot process should have continued without delay/hang

What happens if you plug it in after bootup has completed? Do the partitions take about the same length of time to show up, or does it all work just fine?
