Description Michael Hill 2005-05-03 13:04:04 UTC
I've been running Dungeon Siege for many months, starting under WineX and on through Cedega 4.3.1 . It's probably been two weeks or so since the last time I played, so a number of packages have changed in that time. In the startup script, I call it as "cedega DungeonSiege.exe nointro=true". When I tried starting it this weekend, it bombed with the following error:

/usr/bin/cedega: line 348: 3823 Segmentation fault $SHELL -c "$RUNWINE $WINVER -debugmsg $DEBUGMSG -use-dos-cwd $WORKDIR $EJECT $DT -- $COMMAND_LINE"

I tried backing down to cedega-4.3, but it does the same thing. If I run it without the "nointro=true" arg, it runs, but then locks up after running the intro videos.

I haven't changed anything in the Dungeon Siege directory; I haven't changed the script that calls Cedega since Dec. 25; cedega-4.2 was emerged on Dec. 8; cedega-4.2-r1 on Dec. 19; cedega-4.2.1 on Jan. 14; cedega-4.3 on Mar. 9; and cedega-4.3.1 on Apr. 15. I'm *pretty* sure I've played Dungeon Siege since Apr. 15, but I don't know for certain.

Also, strange results from other games. WarCraft 3 runs fine; Half-Life hangs; StarCraft freezes at the initial splash screen. Most of these I haven't played in a long time, though, so no idea if these problems are recent or not.

don't assign to specifc components unless you verify the owner in the metadata.xml file. Thanks.

try different versions of nvidia-glx

either way you'll probably have to seek help with the cedega folks ...
Comment 7 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2005-09-03 00:34:57 UTC
try the cedega forums
