I seemingly find myself helping people create a custom profiles which adds desktop to the llvm profiles a few time a week, so I believe this should be discussed for being added officially now the llvm profiles have reached a stage where more people wish to use them. I'm suggesting the following three profiles are added based off user testing: default/linux/amd64/17.1/desktop/clang default/linux/amd64/17.1/desktop/systemd/clang/merged-usr default/linux/amd64/17.0/musl/desktop/clang PR to follow with the changes if decided to be accepted.
I'd advocate for adding them for arm64 also. I do suggest the following since they worked out fine for me with LLVM16 and keep getting tested with LLVM17 at the moment: default/linux/arm64/17.0/desktop/systemd/llvm/merged-usr default/linux/arm64/17.0/desktop/plasma/systemd/llvm/merged-usr Greetings
After discussing this with Sam on IRC we both agree now is not the right time to add these profiles however will be reviewed at a later date. In the meantime experienced Gentoo users can create their own profile which does this for them by changing the example in https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Profile_(Portage)#Creating_custom_profiles to fit their needs.
