Description Damien Thébault 2005-05-03 06:33:08 UTC
With gdm-2.6.0.9 (and gnome 2.10), hitting keys don't do anything

I can login, but gnome is unusable (anyway, I tried KDE and fluxbox, they were working fine)

The proble seems the same that this thread : http://lists.debian.org/debian-qa-packages/2004/04/msg00061.html
(capplets problem)

Reproducible: Didn't try
Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge gdm-2.6.0.9
2.(emerge gnome?)
3.login into gnome

Actual Results:
Keyboard doesn't work anymore during the session

Expected Results:
Keyboard working

Comment 1 Damien Thébault 2005-05-03 06:53:51 UTC
I forgot to say that downgrading to gdm-2.6.0.7 solved the problem
Comment 2 foser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-05-03 09:13:38 UTC
Reproducible: Didn't try ?

The debian bug suggests some actions, tried those already ?
Comment 3 Damien Thébault 2005-05-03 09:50:33 UTC
They say that the package "capplets" 2.6.0.3 is buggy with some keyboards...

Since I saw "capplet" in gdm (one of the latest emerged packages) I choose to downgrade to a previous version of gdm... and it works

"Reproducible: Didn't try" : I didn't try to emerge again gdm (with others flags, for example), but I tried to login many times and the problem was always there.
Comment 4 John N. Laliberte (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-07-17 07:27:55 UTC
can you still reproduce this?
Comment 5 Damien Thébault 2005-07-17 10:57:02 UTC
(In reply to comment #4)
> can you still reproduce this?

I don't have any problem with the current gnome-base/gdm-2.6.0.9-r3
Comment 6 Damien Thébault 2005-07-17 10:58:01 UTC
I set it to "fixed"
