Description Werner Pessenhofer 2005-05-03 05:18:25 UTC
If javascript is activated, opera crashes every two to three minutes with "Segmentation fault". Unfortunately no additional error message occurs.

This happens with both static and shared version.

The crash is not limited to specific pages, which were opened.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Actual Results:
opera crashes randomly

Expected Results:
stable running

"Opera for linux" mailing list on my.opera.com suggest to use the package .6
instead of .5 but I had no luck to install it. I tried to change this in ebuild,
and opera version .6 installed flawlessly, but cannot get started.

The only message on the console was "segmentation fault" again, this time before
the graphic interface of opera occurs.

it's an upstream bug then, please report it at opera.com, you can use opera 7.54 meanwhile
