I tried upgrading ffmpeg, but tried enabling a bunch of MPEG codecs that weren't enabled before. At one point, it encountered a "faac.h" not found or something similar, so I tried installing faac, and then ffmpeg installed. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Try installing ffmpeg with a ridiculous set of USE flags. 2. Try installing faac first, then try installing ffmpeg. ffmpeg version? aac? (media-libs/faad2 media-libs/faac) the current stable and ~ ebuilds both support aac correctly.
media-video/ffmpeg-0.4.9_p20050226-r3 media-libs/faac-1.24 It seems to support AAC, but it failed to go out and install faac.
emerge -vp ffmpeg faac please check if the latest version are ok for you
