Description Luke A. Guest 2023-07-24 21:43:08 UTC
On an openrc Gentoo with KDE.

For the last god knows how many months, Dolphin has been broken. When trying to copy or move files around it gives the following error:

"The file or folder Message recipient disconnected from message bus without replying does not exist."

Also "Move" is no longer an option.

Do you start dolphin as the regular user in your session, or do you use kdesu?
Comment 2 Luke A. Guest 2023-08-10 09:22:42 UTC
I run it from the menu or from the command line, I saw the kdesu thing and tried that the other day, apart from messing up my visual settings it also didn't work, exact same issue/messages.
Comment 3 Andreas Sturmlechner gentoo-dev 2023-09-02 21:24:44 UTC
I can reproduce the error on a system where fuse is installed as a module - if it is not loaded. Starts to work fine after modprobe fuse here.

In the forums, several people reported it working after configuring fuse as built-in, maybe just accidentally "fixing" the module being not loaded. One thing to try for you, still.
Comment 4 Luke A. Guest 2023-09-02 21:30:35 UTC
Fuse is built as a module here, it is already loaded and dolphin still fails. This module has always been built this way on this machine and dolphin used to work. I'm going to rebuild the kernel with this module built into the kernel as a test, I'm not expecting any changes but we'll see.
Comment 5 Luke A. Guest 2023-09-14 19:52:25 UTC
Even compiling them into the kernel, still fails:

Crashes when I try to drag-and-drop files from the current directory towards other tabs and address bar (I also have the fuse module loaded)

One bug per problem please, that's a different one.

Apologies, I was under the impression it might've been related
