gcl-2.6.13_pre99 introduces itself as 2.6.12. I've just filed a stabilization bug for gcl-2.6.14 (https://bugs.gentoo.org/910666). One possibility is to wait when (and if) 2.6.14 is stabilized. Another possibility is to stable-mask the USE flag gcl. The maxima ebuild can build maxima for several lisps in one run. E.g., on amd64 this means any subset of {clisp,clozurecl64,ecls,gcl,sbcl}. The best lisp for maxima is sbcl. Building for several lisps usually works OK. *BUT* for mixtures of gcl with some other lisp(s) emerge sometimes fails. Unpredictably, in different places. I suspect some parallelization problem. gcl alone is OK; all lisps except gcl - OK. Mixture of gcl and sbcl usually fails.
maxima now depends on >=dev-lisp/gcl-2.6.14[ansi,readline]. So, this is fixed.
