so.. it only failed when building tests, mayhbe?
Comment 2 tharvik 2023-07-21 19:15:36 UTC
hum, I can't reproduce it here, but that doesn't linked to the tests IMO; as it is related to i2p's uneeded wrapper, `net.i2p.servlet.util.JspC` that we can replace simply by tomcat's `org.apache.jasper.JspC`. hopefully, that would work with our unbundled version.

I've a PR at https://github.com/gentoo/gentoo/pull/31994 with that idea, if you can try it out.

hum, it is quite a weird bug: the debug messages comes from the JVM when validating a Java class at loadtime. so either the jar was badly generated (but a JDK generating invalid bytecode is unlikely), or got changed after the fact (but the JAR itself is CRC32-checksumed so it would need to be a deliberate edit). so maybe a cosmic bit-flip (maybe that's the day!)?

anyway, if you (or anyone else) can't reproduce it, I'm going to close this and keep the patch for the next version.

I'm sorry for the hassle! Yeah, I really don't get it either. I appreciate you spending tome on it in any case.
