Description Andrew McGuinness 2005-05-01 04:14:33 UTC
Putty on windows has a "change settings" option on the window menu that allows some reconfiguration.
This option is missing.
I don't know if this is just unimplemented on the unix port, or if there's some interaction with gnome or metacity that's eating it, or there's a different way of getting the menu that I don't know about.
There seems to be code in unix/pterm.c for creating a menu with a "change settings" menuitem, but I can't see how to get the menu.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
Start an ssh session in putty
click the "window menu"

Actual Results:
Get the normal window-manager provided menu items (minimise, maximise, etc.)

Expected Results:
get "new session" and "change settings" menu items, among others.

Gnome 2.8.2, metacity 2.8.13 ("simple" theme), putty 0.57

Hmm, the menu appears here in net-misc/putty-0.57, it could well be some interaction with your DE. I get a "New Session, Saved Sessions->, Change Settings, etc" menu.

Please confirm you are holding down the ctrl key and then right clicking the terminal region of the putty window.
Comment 2 Andrew McGuinness 2005-05-01 08:50:38 UTC
Yes, that works. I thought I'd tried every combination of modifier keys and
mouse clicks.
Just to make me look extra silly, is that (ctrl-right click on main area) documented somewhere? Is it a Gnome standard?
