Unistalling nvidia-drivers: emerge -C nvidia-drivers solved the issue but I have no more the nvida for cuda capabilities. Reproducible: Always
Another workaround is to comment the line options nvidia-drm modeset=1 in: /etc/modprobe.d/nvidia.conf that is probably the source of the problem.
Please provide emerge --info and change the bug status to UNCONFIRMED.

Beside that there hasn't been a new nvidia-drivers version in ~arch in nearly a month (535.54.03 was June 14), so unless your system was very out of date I doubt it was caused by a new version. The ebuild gives a warning about it the first time it's enabled, it's required for wayland but it's not compatible with every setups.

I happened after an update of a very old system (no update for two months). So it is not compatible with my system. But I cannot use wayland disabling it?

You are on a plasma profile and that profile enabled USE=wayland by default on May 21. And then the ebuild uncomments the modeset=1 line for default configs when that is set. > So it is not compatible with my system. Albeit wayland is still finnicky with NVIDIA so I personally wouldn't be in a hurry to switch to it and that may eventually resolve itself. It's even worse with offloading/multi-gpu setups, albeit some improvements for that are supposedly coming in the next nvidia-545 drivers. Either way, don't think there's much I can do here. Feel free to try different things, otherwise revert to how it used to be (USE=-wayland to skip some unnecessary deps, or comment out the line).
