Hello everyone, I hope this is the right place to submit a request for new software in Portage? I found this possibility via google. I use this lovely Gentoo and am very happy with it. I use it every day on my work computer in the office, I have OpenRC as the init system. Now I need the Tradingview analysis software for my job as a professional forex trader. https://tradingview.com/desktop/ https://snapcraft.io/tradingview There is a Linux client distributed via snapd. Unfortunately, I can't use this with OpenRC, since Snapd is known to require Systemd. The browser-based variant causes an extremely high CPU load in Firefox, which leads to a very noisy PC. Is it possible to introduce the "Tradingview" software in Portage, as a binary or better to compile? That would be more than great of you
I could only find snap packages here, but no source code.
The source code seems to be needed and something like an extraction from the snapd package is not possible? I was in contact with Tradingview, the source code is copyrighted and not open source. After further confirmation from you that this is not solvable, I can unfortunately close this ticket. Thank you anyway.
