Description Piotr Karbowski (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2023-07-02 09:54:30 UTC
When qbittorrent is running with libtorrent-rasterbar-2.x the users with XFS filesystem will suffer from kernel-level deadlocks. This is a bug in Linux kernel that is triggered by 2.x series of libtorrent-rasterbar. As a workaround currently qbittorrent will force the pre-2.x release of libtorrent-rasterbar to be installed.

Once the proper fix lands in kernel, a news item should be created to inform users that they might need to update kernel to version that contain the fix if they use XFS.

This bug is meant to remain open up until a proper fix lands in kernel.

Needs someone hitting this to try w/ 6.5-rc1 (https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=216646#c29).

>This landed in 6.6 as cbc02854331edc6dc22d8b77b6e22e38ebc7dd51 then 3095dd99dd759a5cab8bb81674bc133b1365fb6b.

And 6.6 is the latest stable LTS now, so I think we can close this.
