I'm running KDE Plasma 5 on X11. If I try to start Maelstrom with the fullscreen switch: $ Maelstrom -fullscreen the screen first goes black and then the desktop reappears again. Maelstrom appears to be running in the background somewhere, but there is no visual evidence of it. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Merge games-action/maelstrom-3.0.6-r3 2. Start KDE on X11. 3. Start Maelstrom in a console with: Maelstrom -fullscreen Actual Results: Screen goes black, Maelstrom runs in the background, but does not respond to console signals. Ups, in fact Maelstrom crashes when started in -fullscreen mode. The background start happens only when it is started in a non-X console.
I was wrong again. It is still running in the background, but KWin reports the application has crashed.
It turns out this is the result of changes to media-libs/lidsdl: https://github.com/libsdl-org/sdl12-compat/commit/1c6b5baf3923e5afcd115e00273d9d7ffcb22956 Upgrading media-libs/libsdl to 1.2.64 and rebuilding games-action/maelstrom resolves the problem.
