Please use stable drivers if you need to downgrade, 530 was a outdated NFB branch is older than the current stable 525.116.04

535 also fixes a lot of major issues for people, so I don't think I want to mask it over this either, not everyone use steam.

I can delay making it stable until this is hopefully figured out though (this is a production branch, so it's a stable candidate otherwise).

To add to this, barely just added a new 525.125.06 for bug #909226, which was already fixed in 535.54.03 but not 530. So I would've cleaned it up now if not yesterday.

Haven't tried but I have the feeling that the security fixes (also present in 535) may be related to the steam issues. You may want to try both 525.125.06 and the older 525.116.04 (don't use steam myself, so haven't tried reproducing).

Albeit even if it's the case, will likely stable 525.125.06 anyway sooner than later not to leave users with a vulnerable version for too long and hope steam finds a solution soon. Could temporarily keep the vulnerable version around with a mask rather than outright drop it though.

I tried 525.125.06 and it works fine with steam.

Thanks for trying it. Guess I'll stable that one without worries soon'ish.

Is this still a problem with nvidia-drivers-535.86.05 and/or current steam?

There's also a lot of talk of a workaround being to delete the old GLCache (typically ~/.nv/GLCache or ~/.cache/nvidia/GLCache depending on the version that created it). Albeit perhaps newer drivers will invalidate it properly.

Not that there's really much I can do about this, this will likely have to be the next stable candidate either way if nothing comes up in the next ~30 days.

I updated to x11-drivers/nvidia-drivers-535.86.05 and deleted ~/.nv/*Cache.

It seems to work fine now. Only tried quickly, but steam works + a quick play.

As far as I'm aware, nothing else to do here.
