When I open a new (blank) document in Kate, and then try to save it using ctrl-s, Kate will crash. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Kate 2. Open new blank document 3. Save (ctrl-s: [file] -> [save] does not crash) 4. Either name the file and hit <enter> or hit <esc> to cancel the save. Actual Results: Kate crashed/the window disappeared and the KDE crash handler appeared. If I had asked to save the document in step 4 above, the document *does* appear to be saved. Expected Results: Kate should have remained open after saving the file. I can reproduce this more than 9/10 times. Sometimes, however, Kate flickers, but does not crash. If you want system info please let me know what kind of system information would be useful.
I assume you're using KDE 3.3? https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101174
Yes, 3.3. It looks like the same bug, thanks for the upstream link. I'm changing this to Resolved-upstream. If that's not correct, please tell me, I'm new to this whole bug-posting thing. Peace
