Description Stefano Peluchetti 2002-10-13 13:11:42 UTC
From my metalog configuration file:
# Hint: you can change the device to which
# should be logged in /usr/sbin/consolelog.sh
#

#console logging :
#
  facility = "*"
  command = "/usr/sbin/consolelog.sh"

I also edited it to write to /dev/vc/10
It does not print anything on this consolle.

Thanks

sorry -- i havent tried this.

do you have a fix for this? if not i might not get to it
in a while because i dont use it...

timed out; please re-assign
Comment 3 Wouter Deconinck 2003-03-30 05:25:28 UTC
My fix: there should be "minimum = 6" (or whatever you wish), because when processing that directive, it still uses the "minimum = 1" for the entry right above (which only logs the critical errors).
Maybe this could be added in the metalog.conf which goes with the package?
Comment 4 Nils Ohlmeier 2003-04-16 13:52:15 UTC
The solution is pretty simple:
you also have to remove the comment mark # from the line containing
"console logging:". As you can see from the entrys above this console
logging each section in the metalog config needs a head or title (or
wohever you want to call it).

I know absolutely nothing about this. Nils, reading your reply, is the problem
just a configuration issue, and if so is it on the user's part, or ours?
Comment 6 Grant Goodyear (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-06-30 16:15:45 UTC
Marking as NEEDINFO since my last question is still outstanding.
Comment 7 Markus Nigbur (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-10-01 05:22:32 UTC
It is a configuration issue, not anything we can/should do.
