Description Stefan Briesenick (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-04-28 14:53:01 UTC
since net-misc/curl is bumped to 7.13.2, you have to bump dev-python/pycurl also to 7.13.2.

Quote from the 'curl' ebuild:

# NOTE: If you bump this ebuild, make sure you bump dev-python/pycurl!

Reproducible: Always

it would be nice to bump pycurl ASAP. Since curl 7.13.2 is in portage, every update wants to update the 7.13.1 installation. After updating, it wants to be downgraded again, because pycurl 7.13.1 needs curl 7.13.1. That's really odd!

The comment in the curl-ebuild is there to ensure, that this will not happen (again and again). So please always bump pycurl right in time when you bump curl.

yep, i keep on forgetting this. i was actually thinking of moving the pycurl package into curl so that i won't forget it.

i've relaxed the DEP on pycurl so that this isn't such an issue if i forget, as a safety measure. thanks for your patience.

well, an 'python' USE-flag für curl. Why not... ;-)
Sounds good to me.
