Created attachment 863040 [details] VPNC Networkmanager Frontend It has not been possible to set up a VPN with Gnome under Gentoo for months. Since I couldn't reach anything by emailing the maintainers, I'm now trying this. Affected are in any case OpenVPN and VPNC. With OpenVPN I can't save the second password. If I want to add it, the blue add button disappears. But here is an ugly workaround. You can simply leave the OpenVPN password blank and enter it manually for each connection. It is different with VPNC. Here it is impossible to add the VPN at all. The Add button is simply disabled. When im adding a new VPNC Connection and I do not change the VPN name, enter the gateway, user and group -name, but not the passwords. Can I click on the Add Button in the upper right corner. However, then nothing happens. Only the window for adding is closed. No new VPN entry is created. I assume that the Network Manager frontend is faulty. The connection to a Cisco VPN via CLI is possible. net-vpn/networkmanager-vpnc

Emailing Gentoo maintainers is not suitable for bugs, just for development. But this sounds like an upstream issue anyway (it doesn't sound related to our packaging at all). > > > Affected are in any case OpenVPN and VPNC. > > > With OpenVPN I can't save the second password.
