I've had this bug for a while, I'm on gnome-2.10 now, and it happened with 2.8. For some reason I can't get applications such as epiphany and evolution to execute when a certain windows key+letter is pressed. The weird thing is I can bind the Winkey+anything to launch the terminal and it launches fine. I tried creating a new user account thinking my configuration files might be causing the issue, but the same problem exists there. Gnome recognizes the Windows key as "Mod4" Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Press and hold Windows key 2. Press a letter on the keyboard 3. Wait for a program to open Actual Results: Nothing is executed. Same problem. Binding Window-(anykey) to Lock Screen for example in the Keyboard Shortcuts does not work. Binding the same key to Run Application (or many, many others) does work. This thread has some discussion... http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-326948.html
