The patch in the URL fixes. It has not been well tested yet but comes as a gift from the pic gods.
Comment 2 Jan Brinkmann (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-04-25 08:40:19 UTC
first of all, thanks for the patch which is now in the tree. i've also added a metadata.xml (media-video now takes care of that lib). however, to be on the safe side i dropped keywords of arches where i couldnt test the patch on. arches, please test libfame-0.9.1-r1 and add your keywords back if appropriate. thanks a lot in advance!
Comment 3 Markus Rothe (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-04-29 09:06:24 UTC
added ~ppc64 to KEYWORDS

sorry for the late reaction, but the changes affect only x86, so there's really no need to retest everything on the other archs. what would be important is that someone exercise the code paths that changed and look for any artifacts (bad encoding/decoding or even outright crashes, etc). finally, upstream should also be told/consulted since 'PIC-ifying' the code is useful for every user, not only those of gentoo.
