If user does not install app-text/texlive directly, but instead pulls in required LaTeX packages as dependencies when installing app-editors/kile, a fully working kile+tex environment is obtained, except for xetex, even if xetex use-flag is set globally. When installing app-text/texlive, xetex use-flag pulls in dev-texlive/texlive-xetex and xetex works. When installing app-editors/kile, following package chain is pulled in: virtual/latex-base -> dev-texlive/texlive-fontutils -> app-text/texlive-core texlive-core has xetex use-flag, which pulls in only app-text/teckit and media-libs/fontconfig, neither depending on dev-texlive/texlive-xetex, which is left uninstalled and xetex is not working.
I can't see why this was assigned to kde proj.
