When following https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/LiveUSB#Automatic_drive-wide_installation_script For a https://bouncer.gentoo.org/fetch/root/all/releases/amd64/autobuilds/20230312T164650Z/livegui-amd64-20230312T164650Z.iso I get error: File is too big On step: Copying files... I tried using `mkfs.vfat -F 32`, but it didn't help as file is still >4G. Reproducible: Always
sys-boot/unetbootin pretends that it successfully copied all the necessary data to the USB-stick, but during the actual boot it fails nevertheless.
`dd` flashing works fine: https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/LiveUSB#Using_dd_to_write_the_ISO_image_to_a_USB_drive
We got some workarounds for >4G files in Rufus (another tool similar to unetbootin), for the unpack part and then to use NTFS for the drive root... but it ended up being more trouble than (we believe) it is worth. We probably just need to work to get the squashfs size under control again.
This should be fixed in the newly minted livegui-amd64-20230326T170209Z.iso
