i have downloaded the most recent available portage snapshot portage-20050222.tar.bz2.  upon performing "emerge -e system", a critical stop is reached when portage issues the following error message:

!!! Security Violation: A file exists that is not in the manifest.
!!! File: files/digest-gettext-0.14.1-r1

This should already be fixed in CVS and in the latest snapshot.
